So a couple of weeks ago I posted a blog post http://tinyurl.com/ms2q3x9 about a book I wish to write to help not just the BPD sufferer, but also the family, friend or just someone who cares as I feel there is nothing out there for the supporter and there should be. I am looking for people to help. Preferably people who have a diagnosis, but I will consider those who have the symptoms. Please note that I wont be able to use all of the material and so some of the things will be cut from the final version. This of course will be no reflection on the person who contributed. As a sufferer myself I know how we take things personal and I will do my utmost best to explain things as I go. Feel free to add yourself or simply message me. Thank you for reading.
I really really admire that you want to write a book but I have to say that it is not at all hard to find support for friends and family of people with BPD. I have had a hard time finding support for me, the person with BPD. I have read how we should not be allowed to have children, we ruin the lives of those around us, etc, etc. Books about the family members perspective are so plentiful that they make me feel picked on and are a trigger for me. I hope your book is a comfort to all and a huge success!
Yes. I have seen books like that. They make me very sad and also very afraid that my love done might stumble on it and follow the advice of it. I don’t want my book to be that way. I want it to be an understanding, something that shows care for the people suffering and affected by this illness.
I should have said books, websites, blogs and articles. Not just books. Even Psychology Today magazine (piece of crap that it is) ran an article that bashes us and tells people to run away from us. The premise of the article is to show the public how to spot us so they know who to avoid. The comments are long and plentiful.
